Qatar Airways Group CEO Akbar al Baker had harsh words for the laptop ban when CNNMoney asked what he thought about it.

"If [Trump] continues this way, at the end of the day you will have people sitting in the airplane with underwear and nothing [else] on them," he said.

Al Baker added that the ban was unnecessary and introduced without "proper discussion."

"I don't think this is really the correct way of solving security problems. In today's day and age, we have so much advancement in detection systems that we should utilize them," he said.

Qatar Airways has seen a manageable drop in bookings at less than 10 per flight, according to al Baker. The airline introduced a service for passengers to use laptops and tablets provided by the airline onboard, leading people to realise "there are other ways to use laptops."
