Airport Show 2019 to host first Smart Airports Conference

As part of this year’s upcoming Airport Show, the event will feature the first Smart Airports Conference as part of the co-located event, Global Airport Leaders.

Set to be held on the first day of the Airport Show, which is slated to run from the 29 April – 1 May at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre (DICEC), the conference will showcase the latest developments within the field of airport technology.

A variety of topics are expected to be explored on the day, which includes programmes focused on smart airports and sustainability, Blockchain technology, Six Sigma implementation, smart airport ownership models, as well as future technologies that are evolving airport transportation.

The conference will be spearheaded by HE Omar bin Sultan Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence; Thani al Zaffin, General Director of emaratech; and Abdulqader Ali, CEO of Smartworld. The keynote address will be conducted by Michael Ibbitson, EVP for Technology and Infrastructure at Dubai Airports.

The 19th edition of Airport Show will be held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President of Dubai Civil Aviation Authority (DCAA), Chairman of Dubai Airports and Chairman and Chief Executive of Emirates Airline and Group.

According to Reed Exhibitions Middle East, this year’s edition of the show will feature more than 350 exhibitors and will likely draw over 7,500 attendees.
