The 11th edition of MENOPE, the Middle East Natural & Organic Products Expo, is set to open next month with more global participation than ever, attracting more than 100 regional and international companies from 25 countries this year.
In a statement, organisers of the expo, Global Links, said the show has attracted major participation from global companies including larger pavilion participation from India.
The expo is endorsed by the UAE Ministry of Environment & Water, Dubai Municipality and the Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority. It is supported by International Federation of Organic Agriculture Movements (IFOAM), ministries of agriculture of Philippines and Malaysia.
“Over the last decade, MENOPE has remained an active destination for exhibitors from across the world who has been eyeing the growing pie of organic and natural products market in the Middle East region,” said Global Links managing director Eng. Nadim Al Fuqaha.
“This year we have significant participation from major global companies from across 25 countries, reinforcing the expo’s salience in the context of the increasing trade volumes in the organic and natural product market in the Middle East,” he said.
Eng. Nadim said that participation from the region, including a larger contingent of companies from India, was the highlight of the year.
“The show has grown in stature as well as volumes every year in line with the growth of the natural and organic foods market in the Middle East till a few years ago. The growth of the ME market is propelled by the heightened awareness on good, natural health and a lifestyle that is sustainable,” he said.
“In the last 10 years, MENOPE has been an integral part of the growth story of the organic and natural products market in the region,” said Global Links head of exhibitions Joby Mathew.
He continued: "We do believe that the growth potential for organic and natural products is a continuing success story and there is huge untapped potential in the market.
"Growth for natural and organic products in the region is driven by factors such as a predominance of youth among the regional population and a rise in the number of professional class in the region. A fast emerging awareness on health and safety, environment, sustainable development etc.. is also catalysing the organic growth trend."
The show will feature a variety of products spanning across herbals and spices, food & beverages, cereal products, supplements, health care products, natural living, natural cosmetics, healing products, natural remedies, traditional medicines, spas, relaxation facilities, pet products and fabrics.
MENOPE will run from December 3-5, 2013, at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre.
