The Aloft Abu Dhabi will kick off the Live at Aloft Hotels – Spotlight Series in September, before the programme moves on to Aloft hotels in Brussels, Turkey, and the UK.
Live at Aloft Hotels is a series of musical programmes developed by Aloft Hotels to allow music enthusiasts and hotel guests to interact with local talents through workshops, artwork and live performance.
During the month-long event in Abu Dhabi, the hotel will partner with local rock band Juliana Down to host a number of events as part of the musical programme, including an acoustic session on an Aloft-branded catamaran at the Abu Dhabi corniche on September 18.
The following week, the band will collaborate with local graffiti artists Sya and Bow to create a work of art within the hotel.
The band will then team up with DJs from Liquid on September 27 for a live performance at the hotel’s pool.
The Abu Dhabi series will end on October 4 with the Aloft Music Festival, featuring up and coming UAE bands, DJs and a finale by Juliana Down.
Commenting on the partnership, Juliana Down’s Dia Hassan said: “We are very excited to be part of the Live at Aloft Hotels campaign. As a local band from the UAE, it’s not every day that you have the opportunity to showcase your material to an international audience, so it’s an honour for us and very inspiring for other artists in the UAE and across the region as well.
"We’re really looking forward to the various events and it’s thanks to Aloft Abu Dhabi that such music events are possible.”
Starwood’s vice president of Sheraton, Westin, Aloft, Element and Four Points by Sheraton, Susanne Barfoed said: “Music discovery is important to our millennial guests and we are delighted to showcase and collaborate with artists in Europe and the Middle East through the Spotlight Series campaign.
"Aloft shares our guests’ love of music and is committed to helping our guests discover great new music and talent, whether they are travelling or visiting a W XYZ bar in their hometown.”
