The Retreat Palm Dubai MGallery by Sofitel is scheduled to open later this month.
General manager Samir Arora is heading the pre-opening and opening activity for the soon-to-launch The Retreat Palm Dubai MGallery by Sofitel. Arora brings more than 20 years of international industry experience spanning Asia and the GCC. Prior to joining R Hotels he held the title of general manager at Ramada Downtown Dubai, overseeing all hotel operations and supervision of all departments.
Vanessa Waldow, a senior executive with more than 17 years of sales and marketing experience in the hotel industry in the Middle East has been roped in as the director of sales and marketing.
Chief engineer Amarnath Halankar has more than 15 years of experience in hospitality engineering and facility management in a number of notable hotels and residences such as Taj Hotel, The Ritz Carlton, Al Raha Beach Hotel Abu Dhabi, The Address Hotel Downtown Burj Dubai, and Armani Hotel Burj Khalifa.
Daniel Morariu will be the property’s director of recreation when it opens later this month. Formerly with Emaar Hospitality’s The Address Boulevard Hotel and Sofitel the Palm Jumeirah. He was with the pre-opening management teams for both the hotels.
Russian national Alina Abdullina will lead all public relations and marketing initiatives at the soon to open The Retreat Palm Dubai MGallery by Sofitel as marketing and communications manager.
Vyara Tosheva will join the team at The Retreat Palm Dubai MGallery by Sofitel as a spa and wellness manager. Her hospitality work experience in the fitness industry includes Hilton, Rocco Forte Collection, Kempinski Hotels, and Grecotel Hotels and Resorts.
Jacob Ekere joins The Retreat as a data and security manager. Ekere has worked with Movenpick and Ritz Carlton hotels previously.
F&B manager Halim Wadidi is a hospitality professional with more than 20 years of experience in managing food and beverage for five-star hotels, standalone restaurants, and F&B strategies from corporate office and consultancy perspectives.
Rajesh Velluva joins The Retreat as the head of finance, he is armed with an MBA in finance and boasts of 17 years of industry experience. Velluva has worked with a number of companies including Anantara Desert Islands Resort & Spa and most recently Emaar Hospitality Group.
Tariq Saeed will lead property’s purchasing department as cluster purchasing manager. Saeed has worked as a purchasing manager and cluster purchasing manager in various hotels such as Hawthorn Suites JBR, IBIS Styles Jumeirah, Ramada Downtown Dubai, Aryana Hotel and Serena hotels ( Pakistan and Afghanistan) to name a few.
Revenue manager Sandeep Singh is a hospitality professional with seven years of experience in the industry, he specialises in revenue management and has been responsible for hotel and resort brands across Asia and the Middle East such as Movenpick Hotel and Resorts and Oberoi Hotel and Resorts.
Born and raised in France, Romuald Marie has more than 28 years of culinary experience in international hospitality, including a number of successful hotel openings. At The Retreat Palm Dubai MGallery by Sofitel, Marie will lead the kitchen team as executive chef.
Learning and development manager Rohitashva Ghai has work experience in varied fields including delivering training, designing, and writing courses and directing enterprise initiatives.
Executive housekeeper Rita Pokharel holds a degree in economics and literature from Tribhuwan University in Kathmandu, Nepal. Pokharel holds 15 years of experience in the industry having worked as the executive housekeeper with a number of five-star properties such as Burj Al Arab, Madinat Jumeirah Resort, Habtoor Grand Resort & Spa, and Manzil & Vida hotel.
Talent and culture manager Sameer Aboobacker has nearly 16 years of experience in strategic planning, industrial psychology, and assessment as well as quality management. His work experience in the hospitality industry includes brands such as Le Meridien Mina Seyahi, Cristal Hotels, and Millennium and Copthorne Hotels.
French national Marjolaine Imbert joins the hotel as its front office manager. Imbert started began her career with Four Seasons George V in Paris, France. In 2009 she joined Hyatt Group, and in 2015 she joined Park Hyatt Abu Dhabi as the front office manager.
Celine Noronha joins the The Retreat Palm Dubai MGallery by Sofitel as a personal assistant to the general manager.
