The Turkish lira touched a fresh record low of 3.8210 against the dollar early on Wednesday as investor concern about the country's political and economic outlook brought the currency's losses this year to more than 7 percent.

The lira, which has lost around a quarter of its value against the dollar since an attempted coup in July, stood at 3.8081 at 0535 GMT. It stood at 4.0218 against the euro, weakening from a close on Tuesday of 3.9971.
