The five Omani firms are Abraj Energy Services, MB Petroleum Services, Cactus Premier Drilling Services, BaOmar Oil Field Services, and the Mideast Integrated Drilling and Well Services Company; they will provide work-over services, including modification, repair and maintenance, suspension and abandonment
The project is part of ADNOC's programme to enhance its downstream strategy delivery by expanding its crude processing options. The upgrade entails building new facilities and modifying existing installations to process offshore crude at Ruwais refinery.
Under the terms of the agreements, CNPC, through its majority-owned listed subsidiary PetroChina, has been granted a 10% interest in the Umm Shaif and Nasr concession and a 10% interest in the Lower Zakum concession.
