The growing role of the Middle East as the world’s largest producer of sulphur is the theme of a new regional conference slated to take place in the UAE capital in February 2017.
The inaugural conference, hosted by CRU Events, will provide a unique platform to showcase the importance of sulphur as a vital commodity and provide thorough analysis of the entire sulphur value chain.
The Middle East Sulphur Conference is sponsored by Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) and is aligned with the UAE Government’s vision to create new value for sulphur to support the continued diversification of the nation into a thriving knowledge-based economy. The conference will be held at Jumeriah at Etihad Towers in Abu Dhabi from 12-16 February.
The event will bring together an international audience of sulphur professionals, including suppliers, producers, researchers and academics, operators and technical staff, and technology providers. The conference will prove invaluable to professionals working in related industries, including logistics, distribution and engineering. Promoting peer-to-peer knowledge transfer, encouraging collaboration to solve shared operational challenges and providing high-level networking opportunities are the key objectives of the inaugural conference.
While the event will feature a selection of presentations, workshops, training and roundtable discussions, the commercial and technical programmes will present industry experts who will be on hand to share their experiences and insights on market dynamics, technical developments, current trends, and supply and demand forecasts. There will also be an exhibition showcasing the most innovative technologies used in the industry.
Nicola Coslett, CEO of CRU Events, commented: “We are delighted to bring the region’s first specialised sulphur conference to Abu Dhabi in February 2017. This is a pivotal time for the sulphur industry and we expect the Middle East and particularly Abu Dhabi to continue to see supply growth throughout the next year with the region becoming an increasingly important origin for sulphur supply.”
“The conference will bring together a number of important stakeholders for lively discussions to ensure that the industry continues to grow and improve with the UAE at its core,” added Nicola.
The Middle East Sulphur Conference 2017 is the latest sulphur related event to be organised by CRU, which also hosts the annual Sulphur International Conference and Exhibition, an industry event for the sulphur and sulphuric acid market, taking place in November each year. The next Sulphur International Conference and Exhibition will take place in Atlanta, USA, in November 2017.
