Albwardy Marine Engineering/Damen Shipyards Sharjah has been certified by Lloyds Register Quality Assurance for aligning its safety and environment management system with internationally recognized standards.

The ISO 14001:2004 and OHSAS 18001:2007 certification is a result of an extensive audit of the yards management system, implementation and awareness among its employees and other people working at the yards locations in Sharjah, Dubai and Fujairah. The audit was conducted by Lloyd’s during the beginning of 2015.

Managing director Lars Seistrup described the certification as a step forward in Damen’s focus on safety, quality and sustainability.
