Smart Dubai attends Smart Cities World Congress
Smart Dubai will share it success stories and learn from other smart cities at the event, says Dr Aisha Bin Bishr.

Smart Dubai Office (SDO) is participating once more in the Smart Cities Expo & World Congress the leading annual gathering of smart city leaders.

SDO is attending the event, which takes place in Barcelona until 16th November, along with 12 its government and private-sector strategic partners.

Smart Dubai will presenting updates on the various initiatives under the Smart Dubai Strategy 2021, including the Dubai Pulse data platform, Dubai Blockchain strategy, Dubai Now services platform and the Smart Decision-Making Platform.

HE Dr Aisha Bint Butti Bin Bishr, Director General of the Smart Dubai Office, said: "With each passing year, the Smart Dubai Office, along with our ever-growing list of strategic partners, registers new and more ambitious successes in terms of smart technologies, bringing us one step closer to our goal of making Dubai the smartest and happiest city in the world. We are always on the lookout for opportunities to share our success with the world, as well as to learn from other like-minded organisations about the latest inventions and best practices to develop our own offering.

"Smart Dubai is spearheading the emirate's rapid transformation into a fully-fledged smart city and an international hub for the future industry, guided by the forward-thinking vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, Ruler of Dubai.

"We are delighted to be here with our partners, who are instrumental to our success. Each of us brings a rich background and deep insight into our respective industries. Working together allows us to combine this expertise and know-how and channel it to the benefit of Dubai's citizens, residents and visitors," Dr Aisha added.

The delegation accompanying the SDO includesDubai Customs, Dubai Municipality, Dubai Police General Command, Emirates Integrated Telecommunications Company (du), Dubai Culture and Arts Authority, Dubai Land Department, Dubai Department of Economic Development, Dubai Health Authority, Dubai Silicon Oasis, Dubai Courts, Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, and the Roads and Transport Authority.

These organisations also presented their smart initiatives at the Expo, where the Dubai Silicon Oasis showcases the Smart City Accelerator, UAE 5G Innovation Lab, Interlak platform, Green Roof, and the Smart Waste Management System, among others. Meanwhile, the Dubai Health Authority will present the Electronic Medical Record - Salama initiative and Tifli app, whereas the Roads and Transport Authority will showcase its S'hail and Dubai Drive applications.

For its part, the Dubai Municipality will be introducing audiences to its My Map and the Municipality That Doesn't Sleep applications, while Dubai Police showcases its all-inclusive eponymous app. The Dubai Land Department, meanwhile, is set to showcase the Property Registration Services portal, while the Port, Customs and Free Zone Corporation (PCFC) presents LogiGate, and the Department of Economic Development shows the e-Merchant and instant license and renewal service.
