Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council, met with Google co-founder Sergey Brin in Dubai on Tuesday.
Brin is also president of Google's parent company, Alphabet.
After the meeting, Sheikh Hamdan compared Dubai with Google on social media.
"Today I met Sergey Brin, the co-founder of Google and president of Google's parent company, Alphabet. Sergey and his friend Larry Page founded Google from a dorm room and today the company is worth over $600bn. Their goal is to organise the world's knowledge and make it available for all.
“Sergey and Larry's inspiring story is similar to Dubai's story - We both share a desire to build the future. They created the future of knowledge; we created a model city for the future of urbanism. In cooperation with them, we can contribute positively to the future of humanity,” the prince tweeted.
The meeting was also attended by H E Mohammad bin Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs and the Future of the United Arab Emirates and Managing Director of Dubai Future Foundation.
