Rolls-Royce Motor Cars has revealed seven Bespoke Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, reflecting the number of Emirates in the UAE, in tribute to the late President of the UAE and Ruler of Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan.
Commissioned by Abu Dhabi Motors, The Wisdom Collection has been customized to demonstrate different attributes representing the country.
It includes a Phantom VII, two Phantom Coupés, two Wraiths, a Ghost and a Dawn, which were created at the home of Rolls-Royce in Goodwood, England, through a year-long process.
‘The Wisdom Phantom VII’, inspired by the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, features the largest complex embroidery ever crafted by Rolls-Royce Motor Cars -- comprising more than 390,000 stitches and 800 hours in the making.
The Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi was envisioned by Sheikh Zayed in his lifetime and completed after his passing.
Furthermore, there are two Phantom Coupé’s in the collection: The Phantom Coupé inspired by Qasr Al-Hosn Fort and the Phantom Drophead Coupé inspired by Desert Rose.
The Qasr Al-Hosn Phantom Coupé is a specification that reflects the rich history of Qasr Al-Hosn Fort, one of the oldest stone building in the city of Abu Dhabi, constructed in 1761 as a watchtower to defend the city’s only freshwater well. The motor car reflects the fort through pastel shades and intricate, geometric architectural details.
The second Phantom Coupé has been conceived to represent the tranquillity and intricacy of the Desert Rose.
There are also two Wraiths in The Wisdom Collection. The Falconry Wraith -- commissioned to portray the essence of falconry -- is symbolises the strength, authority, and power represented by the falcon. Its wings symbolise protection, and its sharp talons symbolise despair at the cost of evildoers.
The second Wraith represents the Sheikh Zayed Bridge -- a specification that reflects the dramatic, flowing form of the Sheikh Zayed Bridge, including its bright illumination at night. The Royal Blue exterior and touches of Royal Blue interior echo the lights of the bridge and its modern edge.
Lastly, the Ghost in the collection is a reflection of the ancient trade routes. The bespoke Ghost in Sandstone exterior paint and upper tone in Andalusian White is complimented with coach line and motif in gold colour.
The country’s theme is infused throughout each vehicle in the collection, featuring the embroidered logo “Hikmah” in Arabic Calligraphy -- meaning wisdom in Arabic -- hand-stitched across the headrests and on the illuminated tread plates. A quote that reflects the wisdom of the late Ruler, Sheikh Zayed, is adorned ahead of the front passenger, hand carved across each car.
As for the Dawn, it reflects the historic and famous pearling tradition of the UAE; its interior and exterior mimic “the marriage of the sea and pearls,” with Blues and Whites that highlight the trimmings.
