Royal Jet, the Abu Dhabi-based luxury flight services company, has announced that the first phase of its new base at Al Bateen Executive Airport is scheduled for completion in late 2015.

The land allocated by Abu Dhabi Airports will be home to Royal Jet's hangar to accommodate aircraft, maintenance facilities; Medevac and its administration headquarters.

As part of the project's first phase, Royal Jet will build a 4,500 sq m hangar in addition to a 5,000 sq m facility to include administration, workshops, spares storage and a training centre.

Shane O'Hare, Royal Jet president and CEO, said: "Royal Jet's operational base at Al Bateen Executive Airport is a reflection of the consistent and continuous upward growth that the private jet industry has experienced in the last few years.

"This move to a new facility, along with the UAE's overall aviation strategy, is in line with Abu Dhabi's 2030 Vision. Additionally, it complements our FBO facility at Abu Dhabi International Airport, customer demand and industry needs."

In November, Royal Jet said it will completely renew its fleet by the year 2020, which will reach a total value of $700m at current list prices.

The announcement came on the second day of the Dubai Airshow 2013 where Royal Jet also unveiled the new livery of its current fleet.

Royal Jet is jointly owned by Abu Dhabi Aviation, a publicly listed company on the Abu Dhabi Stock Exchange. Headquartered in Abu Dhabi, Royal Jet is chaired by Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, who also serves as Minister in the UAE Federal Cabinet.
