Dnata appoints global head of culinary

Air service provider dnata has announced the appointment of Chef Stephen Templeton, who has been tapped to serve as global head of Culinary, a newly created post under the international catering division.

In his new position, Templeton will be responsible for all aspects of product development, hospitality, food presentations, kitchen design, as well as food presentations.

David Loft, Chief Commercial Officer for dnata’s catering division, commented: “We pride ourselves on our culinary capability across the globe and our ability to deliver authentic cuisine for our customers and their customers. Stephen’s experience is second-to-none and his unwavering focus on perfection will undoubtedly flow through to the product our customers receive.”

He added: “As we rapidly grow our North America network over the coming 12 months, Stephen will be invaluable in delivering excellence to our current and future customers.”

With over 30 years of experience working in the hospitality sector, the new global head of Culinary previously headed rhubarb Food Design, a prominent UK-based hospitality group, where he served as director of Culinary. He also held several executive roles across a number of high-profile hospitality brands, such as the Mount Nelson Hotel, Harrods of London, and the Spier Wine Estate and Resort, to name a few.

Commenting on his appointment, Stephen Templeton, shared: “dnata is the undoubted leader in inflight culinary products and services, and it’s an extremely exciting time to be joining the team.

“Having spent the past month getting to know the business, I’ve been hugely impressed with the diversity and authenticity across our kitchens and our ability to innovate. I’m looking forward to the challenge of working alongside our experienced chefs to take our product and that of our customers to the next level.”

Serving as one of the world’s largest and renowned culinary caterer, dnata has to date, established 63 catering facilities across 12 countries, which reportedly produce over 320,000 meals every day.
