Jet Aviation founder's son Thomas Hirschmann dies at 64

An announcement from aviation services firm Jet Aviation has revealed that Thomas Hirschmann, son of the company’s late founder, Carl W. Hirschmann.

Joining Jet Aviation back in 1974, Thomas Hirschmann served as the company’s chairman & CEO from 1990 through 2003.

During 15-year tenure at the helm of Jet Aviation, Hirschmann was instrumental in launching the company into the completions business, as well as developing its marketing and communications department. He is also credited in being the driving force behind the company’s push into the Asia market.

A revered figure within the company’s history, Thomas Hirschmann was warmly remembered during Jet Aviation’s 50th-anniversary celebrations back in 2017.

Rob Smith, Jet Aviation Group President, said: “I am greatly saddened to learn of Thomas Hirschmann’s passing.”

He added: “By all accounts, Thomas was a well-liked leader, who maintained a strong customer focus and was able to build relationships with Jet Aviation’s key clients around the world. My condolences, and the condolences of the entire Jet Aviation family are extended to the Hirschmann family.”
