Oman Air has unveiled a new transformation plan that will see it harmonise its fleet, reorganise its structure and increase its dependence on digital tools, the airline has announced.
Oman Air CEO Abdulaziz Al Raisi said that the plans, established over several months with input from across the company, require the airline’s employees to rise to the challenge.
“A transformation programme is not an easy task,” he said. “All of us, we need to drive this programme.
“Our transformation plan requires major changes, which can be disruptive,” he added. “We work in an industry of constant disruption and we must be proactive…we have every reason to believe that all our people will deliver the results we need.”
Earlier in September, Oman Air announced that it had cancelled more than 300 flights over the course of the month because of the ongoing suspension of the Boeing 737 Max.
Among the destinations affected are Salalah, Riyadh, Dammam, Jeddah, Madinah, Amman, Jaipur, Hyderabad, Colombo and Karachi.
“As a result of the Public Authority for Civil Aviation’s (PACA) directive on suspension of Boeing 737 Max, we have cancelled many flights till October 1,” the airline said in a statement. “We are rebooking guests on alternative/next available flights to their destinations. We advise all our guests who are due to travel during the period to check flight status.”
