MUFG Bank recently announced the appointment of Tariq Al Ghaziri as head of corporate banking for MUFG’s Riyadh branch.
MUFG obtained a full commercial license from the Saudi Arabian Monetary Authority (SAMA) in January 2017 and commenced operations in the country in October 2018.
In his new role, Ghaziri hopes to increase the bank’s product offering to international clients.
“As the region works to diversify away from economies dependent on oil production and as the Kingdom realises Vision 2030, we are seeing an influx of projects and opportunities which will require capital from international investors and global financial support. By establishing a branch, MUFG is expanding its product offering to its international clients looking to invest in Saudi Arabia as well as assisting our Saudi clients to avail of the full services of the MUFG network when expanding locally and abroad,” he stated.
Prior to joining MUFG in Riyadh, Ghaziri has held various positions at Riyad Bank for the past 15 years, most recently as Head of Corporate Finance.
Elyas Algaseer, head of corporate banking for MUFG in MENA said, “Appointing Tariq to his new position is an important step in the development of our business in Saudi Arabia.”
