It was recently revealed that the TLC network will be launching its first programme in the MENA region, a chat show aimed at Arab women, this coming October on OSN.
The show will be called "Nida'a" (meaning 'the calling' in Arabic) and will be hosted by award-winning founder of Women for Women International, Zainab Salbi.
The Iraqi-born host will welcome a range of high-profile guests onto the show, including former US President Bill Clinton and other personalities such as Arab idol winner Mohammed Assaf, fashion designer Donna Karan and Egyptian actress Yusra.
In a statement, TLC revealed that Nida’a will give Arab women: “a voice and platform in a way that has never been done before, as diverse topics such as women’s issues, current events, pop culture, entertainment, food and fashion are all covered in front of a studio audience."
Zainab Salbi added: “The Nida’a show aims at inspiring, supporting and empowering young Muslim and Arab women to achieve their full potential in society. It provides high quality entertainment and current affairs content with a fresh, engaging and intelligent tone, reflective of young women in the Middle East today."
