Marvel has confirmed a Muslim superhero named Ms Marvel will be seen on a big screen.
The Muslim comic book hero, also known as Pakistani-American teenager Kamala Khan, will star in a live-action series on Disney +, the National reported.
The show will be one of Marvel’s projects that will make its way on Disney’s new streaming service – Disney+.
Khan is the first Muslim superhero in Marvel’s cinematic and graphic novel roster, and holds the ability to change her size and shape.
No additional details have currently been announced related to the series cast or launch date.
However, it was revealed that comedian Bisha Ali will be the screenwriter by Marvel’s president Kevin Feige at the D23 Expo.
In the comic books, Khan is a teen who reveres fellow female superhero Captain Marvel, and landed her own series of comics in February 2014.
