In a move to properly commit itself to the UK marketplace and acknowledging the growing demand for its IP-based video, audio, control and networking technologies, German broadcast manufacturer Lawo has opened a subsidiary in the UK and strengthened its sales & support team with new appointments.
The new Lawo team members who will service customers in the UK are pre-sales & systems engineer Kadhim Boyd, solution architect James Walker and sales managers Olivier Hough and Devin Workman. Their expertise and many years of commercial and practical sales engineering and support experience, as well as the management and delivery of complex, solution orientated projects, make every team member an ideal choice for their respective positions with Lawo.
Craig Newbury, Director of Sales and Operations, UK & Ireland, who heads the UK team, commented on the move: “Lawo is investing heavily in the UK as part of a drive to keep up with increasing activity and opportunity in the area of IP processing and distribution, and management of IP-based media workflows.”
Engineer Kadhim Boyd has extensive experience as Senior Engineer, Technical Sales Manager and Principal Systems Engineer at Snell, including responsibility for larger projects involving control and monitoring systems across the world.
Solution Architect James Walker previously worked as Head of System Architecture and Delivery - Live Production and Infrastructure at Grass Valley and served in roles including Chief Architect of Live Production and Infrastructure, Engineering Group Manager, Modular Engineering Manager and Principal Design Engineer at Snell.
Prior to his move to Lawo, Olivier Hough served as UK & Ireland Strategic Sales Manager for Vitec Production Solutions. Having begun his career as an editor, animator and graphic designer, he previously held commercial positions with Miranda Technologies and Pixel Power with geographical responsibilities including the UK, Eastern Europe, Russia, India, Israel and APAC.
Devin Workman counts 20 years in professional audio and arrives at Lawo from HHB Communications/Scrub where he specialised in the supply and support of Avid Pro Tools and S6 consoles, Dolby Atmos systems, and Audio-over-IP solutions for film and TV audio postproduction. His previous stints include Application Specialist at Avid Technology and EMEA Product Specialist at Euphonix. As an audio engineer, he has worked at London’s Whitfield Street Studios, the Banff Centre and Fred Smith Studios.
“I am excited to be able to bring together this new group of talented individuals who not only offer an improved level of attention and customer service to our customers in the UK, but also bring the expertise and attitude focused upon customer success that is a hallmark of the Lawo family,” added Newbury.
