The TRA has concluded the “TRA Innovation Camp”, which was held in all of the UAE from 7 July to August 8 this year. Throughout the course of this month, more than 2,800 students attended.
This year, the aim of the camp was to support the culture of artificial intelligence (AI) and data science. It was also to encourage the young generation for entrepreneurship, identifying innovative solutions and shaping the future. Of course, this was in line with the UAE's directions in the ICT sector, through various activities organized by the camp management.
Activities in the camp not only focused on AI and data science but also on robotics, the internet of things (IoT) and digital innovation. The importance of these tracks stems from the fact that they convey a vivid picture of the future, in light with major transformations especially the fourth industrial revolution.
The camp participants were able to conduct practical experiments in building and programming robotics and were able to get involved in many events in IoT, smart devices, e-clouds and the basics of electrical connections. This was all in addition to teamwork and cooperation skills among peers.
H.E. Hamad Obaid Al Mansoori, TRA Director General, said “The TRA Innovation Camp reflects TRA’s role in social responsibility, and its belief that real development begins and ends with the human being. Focusing on UAE’s young generation is a priority in terms of enhancing AI culture and innovation among students in various fields in general, and in ICT in particular.”
