Bahrain-based telecoms operator Batelco will phase out its prepaid calling cards by the end of this year. In a statement, Batelco said its 123Call and PPCC prepaid calling cards will be suspended this December. All customers have been advised to consumer the remaining balance on their cards by that date.
The company said that it continues to revise its products and services portfolio in order to deliver the most relevant and in-demand services, keeping in mind both reliability and value for money.
In July, Batelco reported an 18 per cent rise in net profit to USD90.1 million for first six months of this year. A 24 per cent net profit increase over the corresponding period of 2018 was also reported.
The telco posted a 1 per cent increase in revenues over the first half of 2018, boosted by strong performance in its home country. This was despite the challenging environment it faced.
