Africa’s biggest telco, MTN Group, has extended its partnership with Ericsson in the West African nation of Benin to provide managed services, including Network Operations Center, Field Services in Radio, Core and Transmission in its mobile networks.
The new contract represents a key step in the digitalisation of MTN Benin’s networks, making use of intelligent and data driven operations with the power of Artificial Intelligence (AI).
“Network managed operations play a significant role in improving MTN customers’ satisfaction and enhancing customer experience as well as enabling revenue growth and cost efficiency. We expect advanced technologies like AI, automation and analytics to further accelerate operational transformation through this new managed services partnership,” said Stephen Blewett, chief executive officer at MTN Benin.
The deal represents a key opportunity for Ericsson to consolidate its presence in West Africa with MTN Group having a sizable presence in the region.
