The master developer of the Lusail city being planned north of Doha have issued two major tenders for infrastructure projects for the area's Waterfront Commercial District.
The works have been split into two packages - one covering the northern part of the waterfront site and one covering the southern part.
These will include the construction of bridge and trough works out to junction 9 of the nearby highway, as well as internal roads, water, wastewater and sewerate networks - and new telecoms, gas, fire protection and electricity installations.
The tender, which has been advertised in the local Qatari press, has said that no bidder will be awarded both of the contracts, and that those bidding must be able to demonstrate that they have completed infrastructure projects of similar scale and complexity. They must also have achieved an average annual income of over $82.5m (QR: 300m) during the past five years.
Contractors can bid as a joint venture, but if doing so each venture partner must have a stake of at least 30% - meaning that no more than three can bid together.
The closing date for prequalifying for the work is 2 June and the documentation should be picked up from the Document Control section in the archive building at the Lusail site office from today. It is open from 09.30 until 13.30.
contractors who eventually pre-qualify will have to pay QR: 25,000 ($6,867.19) to tender for the work.
