Majid Al Futtaim Properties has announced that its newly-appointed CEO Bertrand Julien-Laferriere has left the firm just weeks after being appointed to the post.
No reason for his departure was given, with a brief statement to bondholders stating that his resignation was "effective immediately".
Laferriere joined the firm in February and in a press release issued last month, the company said that he would be responsible "for the overall growth of the group’s entire property portfolio" of 17 shopping malls, 11 hotels and three, mixed-use communities with a value of around $10bn.
Prior to joining Majid Al Futtaim, he had held several major roles including one as chief executive officer of French property developer Societe Fonciere Lyonnaise.
Majid Al Futtaim Properties owns Dubai's Mall of the Emirates, the City Centre Beirut and the City Centre Alexandria malls. It is also the developed of the mixed-use community at The Wave, Muscat.
