Bee’ah, a Sharjah-based environmental and waste management company, has announced the addition of smart eco-vehicles to the fleet of Tandeef, the firm’s waste collection division.
Boasting a sustainable design coupled with smart technology, the range will form the base of the newly established Tandeef Smart Eco-fleet.
Commenting on the announcement, Khaled Al Huraimel, Group CEO of Bee'ah shared: “Through this Smart Eco-fleet we will usher-in a new era of environmental responsibility, working towards our strategy of affirming Sharjah's position as the environment capital of the region.”
At the base of the new fleet is a range of electric waste management vehicles. These include public cleaners, sweepers, leaf collectors, litter pickers and even washers. Each vehicle comes equipped with combi-wash, a hygienic technology that enables the vehicles to collect and clean bins at the same time.
The smart eco-fleet will be equipped with smart routing functionality, a GPS-mapping system coupled with dispatch-on-demand (DOD) functionality. This addition detects waste present inside smart bins and dispatches vehicles for collection when filled or after a maximum two-day period. The latter helps to avoid the attraction of insects as the waste begins to degrade.
Furthermore, the fleet will now include vehicles operating on compressed natural gas (CNG), which also reduces the negative impact of CO2 emissions on the surrounding environment.
“Smart vehicles are not a minor aspect of sustainable development, safeguarding our environment is reliant upon practical and coherent principles of ambitious governance,” added Al Huraimel.
“This issue is of monumental consequence both for present and future generations, addressing the benefits of smart technology and utilising them within our strategic development signifies our position as leaders in this region,” he concluded.
