Construction on Nshama’s first co-living concept, UNA, will begin in January 2018 and is scheduled for a Q4 2020 completion date, according to the company’s chief executive.
“We will start [construction] definitely by Q1 next year,” said Fred Durie, chief executive officer at Nshama, the UAE-based developer of the mid-market Town Square project in Dubai.
“The design will take six months to complete. By then we’ll have the building permits and then we’ll be on track to finish by Q4 2020,” he added.
The developer has not yet appointed a main contractor for UNA, but Nshama has finalised the pricing and is expected to tender for the project soon.
“The design has to be done, but we will start with enabling works soon,” Durie said.
UNA has met with a positive response since it launched last month, according to the CEO: “It’s doing well since we launched and has sold well in a tight market – so we are quite happy.”
UNA is a mixed-use development introducing the first “co-living and co-working concept” in Dubai, located within Dubai’s Town Square development in Barsha.
The project will have two ground level lobbies as part of a G+11-storey building with 478 residential units of studios and one-bedroom apartments.
UNA will also have licenced co-working spaces to create the complete work-live-play destination targeting a younger customer base.
