Winners announced at MEP Middle East Awards 2017
A total of 17 winning awards were handed out on the night, with two winners for Project Manager of the Year category.

This year’s MEP Contractor of the Year award went to Voltas Limited.

The company also won the Plumbing Project of the Year for its work on Regent Emirates Pearl Hotel-Grand Hyatt  in Abu Dhabi.

Additionally, Arcadis emerged as a big winner at the MEP Middle East Awards held in Dubai.

The MEP consultancy collected three awards including: MEP Consultancy of the Year, Plumbing Engineer of the Year (Roger Vincer) and Mechanical Engineer of the Year (Ian Eldridge).

A total of 17 winning awards were handed out on the night, with two winners for Project Manager of the Year category; Aoidin Curran from WME Consultants and Roy Wicks from Alemco. 

In addition, for categories where the judges felt it was a very close call, there was 15 highly commended awards given to companies and individuals. 

A record number of nominations were received this year, with winners and highly commended in each category chosen by our panel of six distinguished judges.

1. Health and Safety Initiative of the Year

2. Sustainable Project of the Year

   Winner: DEWA Solar Innovation Center - Ted Jacob Engineering Group
   Highly Commended: ISBANK DATA CENTRE - Red Engg.

3. Retrofit Project of the Year

   Winner: Dubai Festival City Mall - Black & White Engineering
   Highly Commended: The Address Downtown Dubai - BK Gulf

4. Mechanical Project of the Year

   Winner: The Petroleum Institute - SEMCO
   Highly Commended: Jumeirah Gate - Ramboll

5. Electrical Project of the Year

   Winner: Jumeirah Gate - Ramboll
   Highly Commended: Container Terminal 4 - BK Gulf

6. Plumbing Project of the Year

   Winner: Regent Emirates Pearl Hotel-Grand Hyatt -Abu Dhabi - Voltas Limited
   Highly Commended: Intercontinental Hotel, P&T Architects and Engineers

7. GCC Project of the Year

   Winner: MOTIONGATE Dubai Theme Park - Aurecon Group
   Highly Commended: Sheikh Jaber Al Ahmad Cultural Centre - SSH

8. Young Engineer of the Year

   Winner: Neha Nikhat - Atkins
   Highly Commended: Mohammad Danish Seraj - BK Gulf

9. Project Manager of the Year

   Winner: Aoidin Curran -WME Consultants
   Winner: Roy Wicks - Alemco

10. Mechanical Engineer of the Year

   Winner: Ian Eldridge - Arcadis
   Highly Commended: Mihai Tanase - BK Gulf

11. Electrical Engineer of the Year

   Winner: Jamie Darragh - Black & White Engineering
   Highly Commended: Kareem Ruhi - WME Consultants

12. Plumbing Engineer of the Year

   Winner: Roger Vincer – Arcadis
   Highly Commended: Shibu Varghese - Drake & Skull

13. MEP Executive of the Year

   Winner: Chris Barry - BK Gulf
   Highly Commended: Stuart McGregor, Trans Gulf Electromechanical

14. MEP Supplier of the Year

   Winner: Faisal Jassim Group
   Highly Commended: Leminar Air Conditioning Company

15. MEP Consultancy of the Year

   Winner: Arcadis
   Highly Commended: Aecom

16. MEP Contractor of the Year

   Winner: Voltas Limited
   Highly Commended: Trans Gulf Electromechanical

The MEP Middle East Awards 2018 will take place in Dubai on November 7.
