The Middle East has a growing love affair with building bigger and better malls, but are operators ready to meet the rapidly changing demands of consumers who increasingly shopping online?

Some of the highlights regarding the construction and development of new shopping centres in 2018 includes the Reem Mall Abu Dhabi, and the Cityland Mall in Dubai. And this shows that while online shopping continues to gain global prominence, the Middle East is building new malls despite the shift toward digital transactions.

Developing future-focused and tech-savvy malls could be the answer to ensuring the Emirates, Saudi Arabia, and other countries in the region can ensure footfall at their new malls remains on the up as the face of retail changes in the GCC.
