Oman National Engineering and Investment Company (ONEIC) has won a $5.1m (OMR1.9m) contract to set up electricity power feeders in Alsharqiyah North Governorate.

The company will build 33kV feeders from electrical grid stations in Sinaw and Samad, it said in a statement on the Muscat Securities Market.

Work will commence on the one-year contract on 26 June, and ONEIC's client is the Muscat-based Mazoon Electricity Company.

Chief executive officer of ONEIC, Rashid bin Mohammed Al Ghailani, said Mazoon awarded the contract on 13 June.

It is the ninth contract that ONEIC has won this year, and its first win in June, following six contract awards in April and May, and one each in March and February.
