Sameer Daoud, former managing director at Drake and Scull International (DSI), revealed he has taken up the post of chief executive officer at MECIC Contracting.
Between December 2016 and this March, Daoud also held the post of group chief development officer at DSI, alongside his managing director position, prior to his departure from the contracting outfit.
In an update on his LinkedIn profile, Daoud revealed that he had joined MECIC as CEO in April 2018, and is based in Dubai for the role.
As CEO at MECIC, Daoud is responsible for the overall activities of the company, as well as its operations, profit and loss, growth, strategy, development, and delivery activities.
Daoud's previous employers include well-known industry names such as Arcadis, legacy outfit Hyder, WSP, and Atkins.
He holds a BSc in civil engineering from the Jami'at Al-Ulum wa Al-Tiknolojia Al-Urdunia in Jordan.
Daoud's exit from DSI appears to have coincided with the company's appointment of Dr Fadi Feghali as its CEO, announced late in March. This August, Feghali was said to be moving into a yet-unannounced role at DSI, with Yousef Al Mulla taking over as group CEO.
