Hyatt has signed a management agreement with Dubai-based real estate giant Wasl Asset Management Group for the development of an Andaz-branded hotel on Palm Jumeirah.
Slated to open in Q4 2019, Andaz Dubai The Palm will be the first Andaz-branded hotel in Dubai and the brand's second in the UAE after Andaz Capital Gate Abu Dhabi.
Hyatt said the hotel will feature two 15-storey towers, housing 217 guestrooms and 116 serviced apartments. Four restaurants as well as a fitness centre, a spa, and meeting facilities will also be offered.
Speaking on the news, HE Hesham Abdulla Al Qassim, chief executive officer of Wasl Asset Management Group, said: “Due for completion ahead of [Expo 2020 Dubai], this new venture with Hyatt will further enriches our portfolio and fosters the provision of exemplary hospitality experiences to Dubai’s growing tourism market.”
Ludwig Bouldoukian, Hyatt’s Dubai-based regional vice president of development, Middle East and North Africa said the group is “excited to introduce the Andaz brand to Dubai”.
Wasl is already developing another Hyatt hotel in Dubai. As of May 2018, more than two thirds of construction on Wasl Asset Management Group’s Hyatt Centric hotel was complete.
