Khidmah, which was fully acquired by Abu Dhabi’s Aldar in September 2018, revealed that it had won seven facilities management (FM) contracts in the UAE emirates of Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and Umm Al Quwain.
In Abu Dhabi, Khidmah will provide FM services for developments such as World Trade Centre Abu Dhabi, Shining Towers, Al Saadiyat Island, Al Raha Beach, and Gate Towers.
The company will also provide cleaning and hospitality services to the General Authority of Customs in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, and Al Dhafra Region.
Khidmah’s Dubai contracts include the provision of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) services for Al-Sagr Properties developments, including Sama Tower, Business Avenue, Al Sagr Business Tower, and Al-Quoz camp.
Meanwhile, in Umm Al Quwain, Khidmah will deliver external cleaning and pest control services for an unnamed client.
Commenting on the contract wins, Stephen Fenn, executive director of Khidmah, said: “[These wins are] a testament to our FM approach that focuses on providing value for money and high-quality.”
Fenn added that the contracts had been secured after a “very competitive bid process”.
Khidmah was put through a restructuring process by Aldar in February 2019. At the same time, Aldar also established Provis, a property management firm that it said would "disrupt" the local market.
Sameer Barakat, appointed executive director of Provis, told Construction Week that the restructuring activity would boost the competitiveness of both Khidmah and Provis.
