Dubai-based retail and hospitality conglomerate Landmark Group is eyeing an expansion for its shopping malls division, and has announced plans to open the first Oasis Mall in the UAE’s cultural capital Sharjah, making it the second Oasis-branded facility in the country.
The UAE-headquartered conglomerate operates nine malls across the GCC, with three centres each in Saudi Arabia and Bahrain, two in Oman, and one in its home country.
Celebrating a decade of Oasis Malls’ foundation, the upcoming Sharjah project will be the retail and hospitality giant’s 10th in the region.
According to a company statement, Oasis Mall Sharjah will open this April.
Located on Sharjah’s Al Wahda Street corridor, the three-storey mall will be spread over a total area of 6.2ha, comprising 45 retail stores. Landmark Group’s homegrown brands such as Home Centre, Emax, Max, and Fun City will feature at the facility, alongside international names such as Carrefour, Vincci, and Okaidi.
Cinépolis, the biggest cinema chain in Latin America, will host a 10-screen cinema in the mall, marking its debut in the UAE after making an official entry in the GCC with first cinema in Bahrain in February 2019, in partnership with UAE's famliy-run Al Tayer Group.
Commenting on its footprint expansion in the region, Aarti Jagtiani, group director of Landmark Group, said: “I am delighted to announce that our first mall in Sharjah will open its doors to its customers in April 2019.”
