Emirates airline has unveiled a new collection of Airbus A380 and Boeing 777 airplane models inspired by Expo 2020 Dubai’s three Thematic districts – Opportunity, Mobility, and Sustainability.
The airline’s official store has launched the limited collection of models that feature Expo 2020 Dubai livery for aviation enthusiasts and scale-modellers. The “highly detailed” models are part of a 15-item collection that feature the World Expo’s logo in three colours.
The aircraft replicas mimic the Expo 2020 Dubai livery featured by Emirate’s fleet of 40 jumbo-jets and other aircraft, which use the orange, blue, and green colours to respectively showcase the expo’s Opportunity, Mobility, and Sustainability themes.
Emirates said its replicas are available in plastic hollow and solid injected finishes, and in die-cast metal versions, all of which showcase the graphics in the same colours emblazoned on select Emirates A380 and B777 liveries.
Among the Expo 2020 Dubai-inspired Emirates models on sale are the Emirates A380 Expo 2020 /1200 scale model in three colours, the Emirates A380 Expo 2020 1/250 models that “easily clip together”; and Emirates A380 Expo 2020 1/400 scale model – the collection’s smallest scale model that comes with a die-cast metal finish.
Also up for sale are the Emirates 777-300ER Expo 2020 1/200 scale model in hollow plastic; and the Emirates 777-300ER Expo 2020 1/400 scale model in a metal die-cast finish.
The airline revealed the first of 40 aircraft designed with Expo 2020 Dubai livery – an Emirates Boeing 777-300ER – in November 2017. Expo 2020 Dubai’s logo is inspired by an ancient gold ring that was excavated in the UAE emirate.
