UAE facilities management (FM) company Khidmah is being restructured by parent company, Abu Dhabi real estate developer Aldar, which has established Provis to "disrupt" the local property management market.
Khidmah, a wholly owned subsidiary of Aldar, will now deliver FM and home maintenance services for residential, commercial, hospitality, healthcare, and government buildings in the UAE.
As part of the restructure, Khidmah’s former customer-facing service centres will become Provis assets. These communities include Al Bandar, Al Muneera, Al Zeina, Al Hadeel, Gate and Arc Towers, Sun and Sky Towers, Al Ghadeer, Sas Al Nakhl, Al Raha Gardens, Golf Gardens, Hydra, Awqaf, Al Gurm, Khalidya Village, and Golf Gardens.
No job cuts will be made as a result of Khidmah's restructuring.
Aldar, which took control of Khidmah in September 2018, said Provis was launched on 24 February and will offer property consultancy and management, owners’ association consultancy and management, sales and leasing, and clubhouse and lifestyle management services.
Properties that Khidmah and Aldar's asset management teams formerly handled will be transferred to Provis to streamline customer services.
Sameer Barakat has been appointed executive director of Provis and told Construction Week that the restructure would make both companies competitive players in the market.
“The restructuring that has taken place will allow us to be more streamlined and efficient in providing more specialised services for all of our customers, particularly as we roll out the integration of more technology to enhance the customer journey and experience,” he said.
“We anticipate this move to open new and more diverse avenues for future growth and development.”
Corporate branding has been created for Provis, while Khidmah's has been refreshed to make the business look “more contemporary and appealing”, Barakat said, adding that both companies will "gradually" seek geographic and service line expansions in the future, as well as adopt new technology.
