Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi (CCAD), a multi-specialty hospital based in the UAE, has successfully achieved ISSA Cleaning Industry Management Standard Green Building (CIMS-GB) certification. The certification spans the next two years.

CIMS, developed by ISSA, the worldwide cleaning industry association, is a comprehensive management and operations standard for cleaning organisations worldwide.

CCAD is the first healthcare facility in the UAE to certify to CIMS-GB and the second organisation in the country to achieve certification.

Farnek certified to CIMS-GB earlier this year.

CCAD demonstrated its compliance with the six core principles of the standard: quality systems; service delivery; human resources; health, safety, and environmental stewardship; management commitment and Green Building

Rosemary Chisholm, CIMS auditor, said: “The facility combines advanced amenities and with high service standards. CCAD has implemented many innovative programmes—such as an organisation-wide recycling programme—and has an energy efficiency and environmental policy in place. Following my evaluation and inspections, I have no hesitation in recommending CCAD to be granted CIMS-GB certification.”
