Having founded the company more than 50 years ago, the chairman and owner of Mechanical and Civil Engineering Contractors Company (Mace), William Haddad, says: “It has been difficult securing banking facilities such as loans and financing because of the recent local bank mergers and acquisitions.”
The group continues to work on some of the region’s most high-profile projects.
In 2019, the contracting firm has allotted $2m (AED7.3m) for training and development of its workforce, which includes 200 full-time engineers, and 5,000 unskilled labourers.
The firm has recently adopted an enterprise resource planning system to monitor its construction and engineering projects.
