Peter Pollard was appointed as the acting chief executive officer of the Dubai Financial Market-listed construction and engineering firm, Arabtec Holding, after the former CEO, Hamish Tyrwhitt – ranked third in 2018 Power 100 list – stepped down earlier this year.
Before taking up his current role, Pollard had been serving as the chief financial officer for the company since April 2017. He has more than 30 years of experience in the construction industry.
In Q1 2019, the company’s backlog hit $4bn (AED14.8bn), while revenues stood at $544.4m (AED2bn), 16% down from $653.3m (AED2.4bn) in the first quarter of 2018.
Arabtec’s subsidiary Target Engineering won an $85.7m (AED315m) contract for Abu Dhabi National Oil Company’s (Adnoc) Bu Hasa Integrated Field Development project from Spain’s Tecnicas Reunidas in June. The contract win will extend its scope of work on the Adnoc Onshore project.
