As chief executive officer of Abu Dhabi’s Aldar Properties, Talal Al Dhiyebi was a driving force behind the development giant’s widely publicised $8.1bn joint venture with Emaar, which is initially focused on two mega projects: Saadiyat Grove in Abu Dhabi, and Emaar Beachfront.
January this year saw the developer, headquartered at its spherical-shaped office in Abu Dhabi, launch $544.5m (AED2bn) mixed-use development, Alreeman, in Al Shamkha area near Abu Dhabi International airport.
In April, the company launched its Lea waterfront residential project on Yas Island, in response to what Al Dhiyebi described as “pent-up demand” for such properties in the UAE capital. June 2019 saw Aldar picked Mumbai-headquartered real estate consultant Anarock to market its residential and commercial properties to Indian investors, including high-net-worth individuals.
