Global technology leader Honeywell is marking the centenary year of MK Electric, a leading manufacturer of electrical wiring devices. Since its establishment in the United Kingdom in 1919, the brand has become synonymous with high quality, safe and reliable electrical products for domestic, commercial and industrial uses.

MK Electric was established as the Heavy Current Electric Accessories Company by Charles Arnold with just one product: the Multy Kontact socket, which would later become its namesake.

Along the way there have been many inventions including anti-flash, the first shuttered socket to feature concealed live and neutral terminals; the first ‘monobloc’ light switch product with two components – a mounting box and the integral switch and frontplate; and Logic PlusTM, with its three-pin, child resistant, design.

Recently, MK Electric introduced USB charging capabilities to its product portfolio, to enhance guest experiences in the region’s hospitality sector.

The new MK Electric’s 1 Gang USB integrated sockets, equipped with dual USB charging ports, now meet both British and international standards.

“We sincerely thank all our customers in the region for their continued support and look forward to working with them to advance the industry to new heights. We owe our success to our customers and valued employees, past and present, and are grateful for their hard work and dedication. We are excited for what the next hundred years will bring,” said Luc Escoute, regional leader for Honeywell Electrical Products in the Middle East.
