Around 2,350 exhibitors from 55 countries will take part in a record breaking 21st edition of WETEX and the fourth Dubai Solar Show.
“Organising WETEX and the Dubai Solar Show, under the umbrella of Green Week, are aligned with UAE’s wise leadership‘s vision to promote sustainable development and a green economy in the UAE, and help realise the UAE Centennial 2071, the UAE Vision 2021, the UAE Green Growth Strategy, the Dubai Plan 2021, and the Dubai Clean Energy Strategy 2050, to make the Emirate a global hub for clean energy and green economy and provide 75% of Dubai’s total power output from clean energy sources by 2050,” said HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD and CEO of Dubai Electricity & Water Authority (DEWA) and founder and chairman of WETEX.
“Over 20 years, WETEX has established itself as one of the largest and most important international specialised exhibitions, and the largest of its kind in the region.
“It has become an ideal platform for companies, organisations, experts, manufacturers and investors to learn about the latest developments and global technologies related to water, the environment, oil and gas, conventional and renewable energy and related industries.”
Al Tayer noted that WETEX 2019 coincides with the sixth World Green Economy Summit (WGES, 20 and 21 October), which is also organised by DEWA and the World Green Economy Organisation, in collaboration with international partners, under the theme 'Innovative Technologies for a Sustainable Economy.’
Officials and decision makers from around the world will discuss sustainable development mechanisms and international co-operation systems to establish a global green economy.
WETEX and Dubai Solar Show will run from 21-23 October at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre.
Last year, the two exhibitions attracted 35,000 visitors from 53 countries, 75 sponsors and 2,100 exhibitors.
