The collaboration comes as part of DEWA’s endeavours to accelerate the adoption of digital solutions in the public and private sectors across the region.
The MoU was signed at the joint stand of Moro and DEWA during GITEX 2019 by Marwan Bin Haider, vice chairman of Moro, and Adli Dehelia, VP & MD of META region at Roambee.
The agreement is aimed at furthering collaboration between both parties to provide the UAE, KSA, Kuwait and Bahrain with IoT Solutions, and to create a platform to adopt asset management services.
This will contribute to reinforcing Moro’s position in the field of asset management in the cold-chain and fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) sector.
HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD and CEO of DEWA and Chairman of Moro, said: “Through Moro, we seek to redefine service-delivery in order to shape a new digital future for Dubai, in keeping with the smart Dubai initiative by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, which aims to transform Dubai into the world's smartest and happiest city.
“Therefore, we have entered into this strategic partnership with Roambee to develop Moro and make it the preferred choice and leading provider of data centre and cloud services for public and private sector companies, whether regionally or internationally.”
Al Tayer stressed the need to join forces to develop and upgrade specialised data centres, which Moro is working towards.
HE added: “At Moro, we are making every effort to adopt cutting-edge solutions and technologies to keep pace with the vision of our wise leadership and to provide easily accessible smart services.
“This will strengthen the foundations of innovation and creativity in order to enhance the UAE and Dubai’s leadership position as a role model for countries which put prosperity and happiness of their citizens at the top of their priorities,” added Al Tayer.
“Through this partnership with Roambee, Moro will provide outstanding new services to meet the increasing need for digital solutions locally and regionally. We look forward to increasing the number of customers from different sectors.
“Our collaboration will enable us to provide special services in the cold-chain and FMCG sector, as they can reduce operational cost and ensure business continuity,” said Marwan Bin Haider, Vice Chairman of Moro.
