Ahead of the Omani Women’s Day, which falls on 17 October each year, the Sultanate’s Public Establishment for Industrial Estates’s (Madayn) Al Rusayl Industrial City, Samil Industrial City, and National Business Centre (NBD) held celebrations on 16 October, with the initiative being implemented in line with Madayn’s efforts to recognise the achievements of female employees working in the industrial sector.
Celebrations at the Al Rusayl Industrial City were organised under the patronage of assistant chief executive officer for operations at Madayn, Eng. Musallam bin Mohammed Al Shehri, in the presence of director general of Al Rusayl Industrial City, Eng. Musallam bin Mohammed Al Shehri.
Meanwhile, the programme at Samil Industrial City was hosted in the presence of director general of the city, Eng. Dawood bin Salim Al Hadabi.
As part of the programme organised at NBC, a discussion focusing on the challenges concerning female entrepeneurs in the Sultanate was hosted.
These challenges included random and unplanned ideas, lack of dedication in the early years of the business, lack of awareness in selecting the ideal platforms to start the business, unavailability of accountants for the business, investing large capital in the beginning, improper business plan, lack of confidence in dealing with clients, and poor choice of location for the business.
