Ras Al Khaimah (Rak) Municipality’s energy efficiency and renewables office, Reem, as well as the Public Services Department of Ras Al Khaimah will participate in the 21st Water, Energy, Technology and Environment Exhibition (Wetex 2019), which will be held 21-23 October at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre (DICEC), the government entities confirmed in a statement.
A trial of the government entity’s online services, including a Barjeel training platform, will be presented to building engineers, consultants, and visitors at the RAK stand.
Commenting on energy efficiency and renewable energy adoption as drivers for economic competitiveness, director general of Rak Municipality, HE Munther Mohammed bin Shekar, said: “With our energy efficiency and renewable energy strategy 2040 launched in 2018, we have already made significant progress towards improving the sustainability of Ras Al Khaimah. We are proud to bring to Wetex, this year, several new initiatives and projects to showcase, and we look forward to opening lines of collaboration with experts and leading enterprises attending the event, who can add value to our developments in Ras Al Khaimah.”
During the three-day exhibition, director of Reem, Andrea Di Gregorio, will present the progress and achievements of the Ras Al Khaimah Energy Efficiency & Renewable Energy Strategy 2040 on 21 October at 3:35pm; senior energy services manager at the RAK department, Henrique Pereira, will present the retrofit programme, its achievements and upcoming projects, on 22 October at 10:50am; and senior specialist at the RAK department, Akshay Datar, will present an update on the portfolio of projects of the strategy on 22 October at 3:50pm.
