Water metering solutions provider Sensus has launched an ultrasound static water meter Cordonel – designed to achieve a smarter utility network by managing distribution networks more efficiently through accurate data – at the 21st Water, Energy, Technology, and Environment Exhibition (Wetex 2019), which is being held 21-23 October at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre (Dicec).
The Cordonel technology, which can be utilised in commercial and industrial applications from water distribution supply to irrigation management, addresses two challenges in the sector such as the lack of hyper-accurate metrology to detect the smallest leaks, and the lack of a connected meter that communicates critical network data in real-time.
By addressing the challenges, Cordonel helps prevent leakage, save costs, and enables optimisation of daily maintenance to increase uptime of the network.
The smart technology offers real-time water data analytics on minimal consumption, and can be installed within existing pipework or small pits.
Commenting on the launch of the technology, regional director of Sensus Middle East and North Africa, Francois Frigaux, said: “Cordonel is a revolutionary innovation that will enable water utility networks to draw on rich real-time data for unprecedented insights on water usage. This will help users to achieve higher savings through the close monitoring of consumption patterns as well as the various patterns in the distribution network.”
Frigaux added: “Cordonel will support the UAE’s focus on sustainable development, especially in the management of water resources, through both supply and demand side insights.”
