With its sensors and variable frequency drive, SCALA2 not only offers comfort to residents by providing constant water pressure in all taps at all times, but also can potentially reduce energy consumption by 80%.The event is held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, from 7 to 8 October, 2019 and is hosted by the Ministry of Infrastructure Development and the Sheikh Zayed Housing Programme, in collaboration with the Council of Arab Ministers of Housing and Reconstruction from the Arab League and the Regional Bureau for Arab States of the United Nations Organisation for Human Settlements, UN-Habitat.
Grundfos’s SCALA2 pump used at the SEWA (Sharjah Electricity & Water Authority) head office, where it replaced older units, generated energy savings of 80% annually with a payback of 1.3 years.
Grundfos’ SCALA2 solution is a breakthrough development for residential water supply and pressure boosting, and will be used in new project villas, expected to be ready by 2021. The pressure booster utilises advanced technology and integrated design to provide constant water pressure throughout the home, regardless of the number of outlets open. Using up to 80% less energy than conventional systems, its advanced technology also detects hidden leaks early, preventing massive potential waste. Unlike other pumps which run on full speed at all times, SCALA2 adjusts its flow according to the demand, ensuring the most optimal use of energy based on demand.
