Construction works are underway at the Netherlands’ Expo 2020 pavilion.

The centrepiece of the Dutch offering will be a biotope that produces water, renewable energy, and organic mushrooms.

It will harvest carbon dioxide to purify the air, and its circular climate system will create artificial rain to grow the mushrooms.

The project includes pavilion, exhibition space, business and VIP lounges, restaurants, shops, functional spaces, storage areas, office spaces, meeting and reception rooms, dressing room, prayer room, outdoor areas, gardens, associated facilities.

A groundbreaking ceremony was held in June, and formal construction is now in progress following mobilisation works at the site in Expo’s Sustainability District.

MCH Group AG is listed as general contractor for the build, with no designated MEP contractor listed as of yet.
