The Joint Services Department of Sharjah Electricity and Water Authority has received a total of 5,084 applications to approve permanent and temporary plans and delivery of commercial, residential, industrial, governmental, and agricultural buildings in Sharjah, from the beginning of 2020 to 15 April.
The authority recorded a total of 3,833 requests - received by email - between the beginning of March until mid-April, the Department.
The authority recorded the aforementioned figures after providing electronic platforms to receive requests and provide services 24 hours a day, as part of its preventive efforts to curb the spread of the COVID-19 outbreak, Sharjah Government Media Bureau's (SGMB) Sharjah24, reported.
The chairman of Sharjah Electricity and Water Authority, HE Dr Eng Rashid Al Leem, said that the authority is continuing work by undertaking precautionary measures to mitigate the impact of the ongoing crisis. He further stated that the authority is working on developing production stations and distribution networks, in line with the emirate's governmental guidelines.
