Ashok Leyland is now the world’s third largest bus maker

Ashok Leyland Limited, flagship of the Hinduja Group, has been named global number three in the MHCV bus makers list for 2019, based on a recent reports from SIAM, OICA (Organisation Internationale des Constructeurs d’Automobiles) and IHS Markit.

Ashok Leyland has been a pioneer in the MHCV bus market and introduced several innovations in the industry. The company’s achievements include power steering, air brakes, rear engine buses and the launch of India’s first double decker bus.

The total number of buses sold by Ashok Leyland in 2019 stood at 23,100.
